The festival "By the Dryan Dam" offered participants and audience many new moments (VIDEO)
The past eleventh edition of the Enya Festival of Families and Traditions "By the Dryan Dam" offered many new moments for participants and audience.
I think it went beautifully - as we planned it from the very beginning. This is what Mariana Apostolova, the mayor of Krasen village, said in the studio of Dobrudja media group. She said that she had worked on the organisation of the festival with Zhivko Zhelev, the musical director of PFE Dobrudja, who was also the chairman of the jury at this year's festival.
According to Apostolova, about 2,000 people gathered at the event near the Dryan dam on Sunday. 77 participants - amateur singing and dancing groups and individual performers - appeared on stage. Just as many as the herbs that each of us must gather for the winter, Apostolova said. This year, the tradition of the women of the village gathering herbs early in the morning to make small bunches, which are given to all the participants in the festival, was observed. In addition, a huge wreath was again made, which the participants pass through before going on stage. A cup of aromatic herbal tea was provided for each guest.
An interesting new feature of the festival was the participation of the kindergarten groups. Something that was very colorful for their and the other dancers' performance was greatly helped by the stage that was set up for the first time at the festival, said the mayor of Krasen.
Another new moment was the open folk singing and folk dancing lessons, in which song and dance from Dobrudja were learned with professional teachers. Then we all got on stage and sang and danced together. It was very different and very beautiful. I hope everyone enjoyed it, Apostolova said. She stressed that the focus was Dobrudja music. This was continued with the concert at the end of the event, which featured Georgi Ivanov, Stoyan Varnaliyev, Zhivko Zhelev, Anelia Radeva and Milen Radev, the dance group "Sharena Gaida" from Varna, the women's folklore group "Kitka" from the community center "Svetlina - 1941" in General Toshevo and Sharena Gaida and the folklore dance ensemble "Kalinka Valcheva" from Tervel.
For next year we have to build on what we have now. We already have some ideas, but you will find them out at the 12th edition, Apostolova said. She thanked the General Toshevo Municipality, "Yordan Yovkov 1896", the team from the Krasen Village Hall and the Dobrudja Media Group for the sound of the event.
